Mark Newbold - EXECUTIVE Chairman

Mark Newbold's vision, financial acumen and legal understanding have been themain drivers behind Strategic Marine's successful transformation from an Australian-focussed local boat builder, into an international shipbuilding company.

From the deck to Master of Vessels, Mr Newbold culminated his experiences by operating a  tug and towage operation as Managing Director. He then focused his expertise to consulting for  Western Australian-based Geraldton Boat Builders Pty Ltd - ultimately becoming Chairman. Mr Newbold was the driving force behind the establishment of Strategic Marine in 2001.

His fundamental strategy in building a global company has been to minimise its risk by having manufacturing operations located in a number of countries with different economies & currencies.

Ron F. Anderson - EXECUTIVE Director

Ron Anderson has been involved in the maritime industry for more than 40 years, starting as a seaman on freighters in the early 1960s.

After rising to the position of Ship's Master, Mr Anderson moved into ship management roles, representing shipowners and working for over 30 years in South East Asia. After returning to Australia, Mr Anderson continued to work with international shipping companies.

He later became National Marine Manager with Austrade, the Australian Government's international trade promotion agency. In the late 1990s he joined the shipbuilding industry, holding senior sales & marketing positions, before being invited to become a Director on the Board of the newly founded Strategic Marine in 2001.

Mark Schiller - EXECUTIVE Director

Mark Schiller started his career as an apprentice boiler maker/welder with Geraldton Boat Builders on its inception in 1984.

Mr Schiller's attention to detail and practical knowledge, saw him grow into a number of management roles over the years, including production, sales and administration.

Mr Schiller become a Director of Strategic Marine in 2001, and was appointed as Strategic Marine's Vietnam Managing Director in 2007, enabling him to orchestrate the construction of the Company's new world class shipyard.
